The $50m main building contract undertaken by C. Lund & Son Ltd. as a part of Christchurch International Airport Ltd.


Terminal Expansion Project involved the construction and fitting out of 28,000m2 of new building and extensive refurbishment of 11,000m2 of existing terminal building.


The work was staged over a two year period with the initial stage involving over $30m of new construction work during the first 12 months. The entire project was undertaken whilst maintaining full operation of the airport facilities and imposing minimum impact on airport operations. Significant areas of work were carried out outside normal airport operational hours and extensive temporary works were required to maintain safe and effective passenger movements within the international airport.
